They played some amazing cricket to reach a superb 2nd in their league across the borough. Despite losing one game, they bounced back to win their final match. ???? Today, our amazing Key Stage 1 Scavenger Hunt team represented our school at Marl Pits, and did an outstanding job! ???????? They showed great friendship, endurance skills, and kindness throughout. ????????

Yr3/4 Gymnastics
Well done to our Yr3/4 Gymnastics Squad for their amazing efforts at the Rossendale finals with some amazing gymnastics routines. ???? Yr3 and Yr4 Pennine Lancashire Festival of Sport
Some Yr3 and Yr4 children went to represent St James’ and Rossendale at the Pennine Lancashire Festival of Sport at Accrington Cricket Club on Wednesday 1st May. What a glorious day! In the morning, they played a variety of cricket games under the bright sunshine. The afternoon was equally exciting, with activities like archery, golf, and street games to get stuck into. A huge thank you to Lancashire School Sports for putting together such a fantastic day!

Wigan Warriors Trophy Parade
During our PE sessions with Wigan Warriors, we all had the amazing opportunity to welcome the League Leaders Shield, Super League Trophy and the World Club Challenge Trophy into school. We heard about how these were won and then continued are amazing rugby sessions. #wiganwarriors

Rossendale Dance Festival
Everybody were incredibly proud of our first ever dance group for their outstanding efforts at the Rossendale Dance Festival ????. Every single one of them were amazing! We were the youngest group to perform and they represented the school brilliantly. Thank you Miss Brewer and Mrs Geoghegan for their support and hard work with the children. Keep up the amazing work!

Yr5/6 Boys Badminton Tournament
Well done to our Year 5 and 6 Boys Badminton teams who took part in the Rossendale competition at All Saints High School this week. The children showed amazing sportsmanship, endurance, and kindness in all their matches. Thank you to Mrs Jamil for supporting the boys and taking them to the event.

Yr2/3 FUN-damental Festival
Well done to our FUN-damental Yr2 and Yr3 team who took part in a range of activities at the Rossendale festival today. The children showed amazing teamwork, kindness and enthusiasm in all the activities.


Yr3/4 Glow Dodgeball Festival
Well done to our Yr3/4 Dodgeball team who represented school with flying (and glowing) colours at the Rossendale Sports Partnership event. The children showed amazing enthusiasm and sportsmanship in every game. Thank you Mr Marren and Mrs Jamil for their support and help with the children. Keep up the amazing efforts children.

Yr5/6 Basketball Competition
Congratulations to both of our Basketball teams for displaying some fantastic efforts at the Rossendale competition today. St James’ 2 came 4th and St James’ 1 came 5th. It was great to see the school winning the values award of “Respect” after showing sportsmanship after each game. Thank you Mr Simister for his hard work in preparing the team during lunchtimes. ????

Yr5/6 Glow Dodgeball Festival
Well done to some of our Yr5 and Yr6 pupils who took part in the Rossendale Glow Dodgeball Festival. The children showed superb teamwork and friendship in all their games. It was also great to see fantastic sportsmanship after each game too.


Yr5/6 Dodgeball Qualifiers
Congratulations to our Yr5/6 Dodgeball team for representing the school brilliantly at the Rossendale School Sports Partnership event yesterday. The children played a range of games and came home winners of the Lancashire School Games Values award of “Honesty”. Keep up the great work.

Yr3/4 Sportshall Athletics
Congratulations to our Yr3 and Yr4 Sportshall Athletics team who represented school at the Rossendale tournament. They competed against 5 other schools and came back winners of the Lancashire Games Value Award of “Passion”.
Thank you Mrs Jamil, Mrs Molloy and Mr Simister for their support in transporting the children as well as cheering them on.

SPAR Lancashire Youth Games Launch
Four of our amazing pupils represented Rossendale School Sports Partnership and St James’ at the launch of the Lancashire School Games. They listened to Holly Bradshaw (Olympic pole-vaulter) and even had the chance to hold her Olympic medal ????. Well done everybody for representing the school and borough with pride. #lancashireschoolgames

Yr3/4 Football Tournament
Well done to our Yr3/4 Football Team who showed fantastic endurance and trust as a team to come 2nd in their league. They narrowly missed out on a place in the finals on head to head. Fantastic goals by SA and ZI helped the team to 2 wins and one narrow defeat. Keep up the great work children.

Yr2/3 Rossendale Football Festival
Well done to our Yr2/3 Football team who represented the school brilliantly at the Rossendale School Sports Partnership Football Festival. They worked hard as a team and won the Sports Value “Passion” award. Keep up the enthusiasm ⚽️

Well Done to our Yr5/6 Football tournament on showing our school value of “Endurance” in the Rossendale football tournament. The team grew in confidence each game to reach a superb 3rd place. It was brilliant to see the team spirit and sportsmanship in each game. Thank you Mr Simister and Mr Marren for their support and help getting the team prepared.
