Parent Workshops

At St James’ Primary School, we continue to work on increasing invites to parents to Workshops to support their child’s learning at home. For those parents who are unable to make our workshops, information from the workshops can be found and downloaded below. All parents are welcome to attend Parent Workshops. We are continually trying to meet the needs of our pupils and parents therefore if you have any feedback regarding the workshops please see Miss Brady or Mr Lloyd.

We will be hosting 3 workshops on a Friday afternoon which you can attend to learn more about aspects of computing that your children in class R, 1 & 2 may be coming familiar with:

  • First Steps with Coding (Friday 27th January 1.30p.m – 3p.m)
  • Ozobots (Friday 3rd February 1.30p.m – 3p.m)
  • Lego Robotics (Friday 27th January 1.30p.m – 3p.m)

It was fantastic to welcome parents to school to work closely with their children and investigate Ozobots. They worked on understand how to operate their Ozobots as well as understanding key features of coding too. We hope that our parents found the afternoon a good experience with ideas to further their children’s learning when at home too.

We hosted 3 workshops on a Friday afternoons in Spring 2 which parents from Year 3 and Year 4 attended to learn more about aspects of computing that our children cover in school:

  • First Steps with Coding (Friday 24th February 1:15pm-3pm)
  • Ozobots (Friday 3rd March 1:15pm-3pm)
  • Lego Robotics (Friday 10th March 1:15pm-3pm)

Thank you to Mr Simister who hosted our SATs meeting to our Yr6 parents to update them on their SATS in May. It was fantastic to see a good turn out and our families supporting the hard work from everybody in Yr6 this year so far.
