Yr2 Maths-Fun with fractions

We have been busy investigating fractions this week. Identifying a third was the focus of our learning today. We worked together using counters, to share the amounts equally onto the third base boards. We found that some numbers can not be shared equally in to thirds-some children were able to connect this to their 3 times table knowledge. Mrs Humberstone also asked us to split a square equally into quarters-we found there were three ways to do this!
