Yr1 – English

In English, we have started our new topic of ‘Traditional Tales’ where we are focusing on book of ‘The Little Mermaid’ 🧜
In class, we started with ‘What’s in the bag?’, where Miss Dunne described various Disney characters by their description and the children had to guess
Miss Dunne then had a second bag, with items belonging to ‘The Little Mermaid’,but the children had to work out which characters belongings they were 😮 🔱
After that, we went around the classroom reading CVC, CVCC and tricky words from the story and discussed their meanings and what could happen in the story using the words! 🧜 🔱 🐠 🦀
