Yr 5 Transition Afternoon (Haslingden High School)

We were thrilled to host the Year 5 students from local primary schools for a special transition afternoon at Haslingden High School on Tuesday. The children took part in a range of exciting English and Science activities, all centred around our core value of “friendship”.

It was truly heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm and excellent behaviour displayed by the visiting students. Their eagerness to learn and willingness to collaborate with their peers reflected the true essence of friendship.

In English, the students worked together on a creative writing task, weaving imaginative stories filled with friendship themes. Their creativity knew no bounds, and it was delightful to see the budding writers support and encourage one another.

Over in the Science lab, the Year 5 pupils engaged in captivating experiments that required teamwork and communication. The way they problem-solved together and celebrated each other’s successes highlighted the strong sense of camaraderie that we hold dear at Haslingden High School.

We are immensely proud of all the Year 5 students who participated in the transition afternoon. Their positivity, respectfulness, and kindness truly embody the spirit of friendship that we cherish at our school.
