This week we have been learning about the real life superheroes in our community. We have discussed the different jobs that they do from police officer, firefighter, postman, bus driver and shopkeepers. We have been focusing on the jobs of fire fighters, doctors and nurses and police officers. The children have been enthusiastic in role playing in our outdoor classroom the different occupations. They have dressed up acted out the different roles and used the resources to enhance their play. They have built their own fire engines, ambulance and police cars. We have painted observational pictures of fire engines and put out fires by squirting water onto the flames. We have completed jigsaws to make different emergency vehicles. The children built ladders out of various building blocks, working with their friends to rescue the cat stuck up the tree. We have explored a variety of non-fiction books to help us learn about the different people that help us in our community.
